Frank Marotte Named Ken Dryden Goaltender of the Year

ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced the winner of this year’s Ken Dryden Goaltender of the Year Award (sponsored by MAC Goaltending), and Frank Marotte (Clarkson University) has been honored.

This is the first time since the 2006-07 season that a Golden Knight net minder has received this award, and just the second time in program history.

In his first season donning the Green and Gold, Marotte (Sr. - Longueuil, Que.) emerged as one of the nations top goaltenders, ranking in the top-10 nationally in GAA (4th - 1.78), save percentage (4th - .938), winning percentage (6th - .721), and shutouts (8th - 4). He played all but 34 minutes in net for Clarkson, backstopping the team to a 23-8-3 (16-5-1) mark. In league play, he ranked second in GAA, save percentage, and saves.

The remainder of this year’s ECAC Hockey men’s major award winners will be announced on Friday, March 20.
