Josh Dunne Named Gladiator Best Defensive Forward

ALBANY, N.Y. - ECAC Hockey has announced the winner of this year’s Gladiator Best Defensive Forward Award, and Josh Dunne (Clarkson University) has been honored.

This is the third straight year a Clarkson player has received this award, as Nico Sturm was the recipient in each of the past two seasons.

Dunne (So. - O’Fallon, Mo.) was an outstanding two way player in 2019-20, having led Clarkson to a 23-8-3 record. He’s first amongst Golden Knight forwards in blocked shots (37), and second on the team in plus-minus rating (+10). On the offensive side, he’s also third in points with 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points.

The remainder of this year’s ECAC Hockey men’s major award winners will be announced throughout the week.
