Dartmouth Tops Yale in Back-and-Forth Thriller

NEW HAVEN, Conn.  – Three different players found the net but the Yale Men's Hockey Team dropped a 4-3 game to Dartmouth at Ingalls Rink. Will Graber's goal with 1:25 left in the third was the difference in the ECAC Hockey contest.

The Elis scored early in both the first and second periods to take one-goal leads that were answered by the Big Green.

Justin Pearson's re-direction tally of a Jack St. Ivany shot gave the Blue a 1-0 lead 4:48 into the game. The sophomore left wing from Nashua, N.H., was in the low slot when his defenseman released the low blast that eventually sailed over goalie Adrian Clark's right shoulder.

Tyler Welsh made it 2-1 when he snapped off a shot from the right circle that went top shelf just 4:07 into the middle frame. Welsh, a junior right wing from Whistler, B.C., took a long pass from blueliner Billy Sweezey and zipped up the ice on the right side.

Dartmouth followed with a pair to take its first lead at 3-2 early in the third. This time it was the home team's turn to get the equalizer, which junior Dante Palecco did with a rebound at 16:12.

Senior Corbin Kaczperski made 25 saves, including 10 in the third, to record the decision in net for Yale.

The Bulldogs (1-4-0, 1-4-0 ECAC) are home again Saturday to host No. 13 Harvard at 7 p.m.
